100mg, two doses?

Hi all

This might be a really stupid question but I can't find the manufacturers leaflet anywhere. I take 100mg per day in two 50mg tablets. Could I take these at the same time or do they have to be spread out?

I'm getting a little forgetful with my evening dose and it's turning into a bad habit. While I'm here if anyone has any additional tips to remind me to take my medicines it would be very welcome!

Thanks all :)

What medication is it?

Put it with something you do daily. Brush your teeth? Next to your bed? Etc

Sorry, azathioprine!
I'm waiting to start mine, so don't have a leaflet to hand. But this is what u found online....

How to use Azathioprine

Take thismedicationbymouthas directed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily. Take this medication with food to reducestomachupset.

The dosage is based on your medical condition, weight, and response to treatment.Donot increase your dose or use this drug more often or for longer than prescribed. Your condition will not improve any faster, and your risk of serious side effects will increase.

Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time(s) each day.

For the treatment ofarthritis, it may take up to 2 months before your symptoms get better. Tell your doctor if your condition does not get better after 3 months of treatment.

Since this drug can be absorbed through theskinandlungsand may harm an unborn baby, women who arepregnantor who may become pregnant should not handle this medication or breathe the dust from the tablets.

They don't have to be spread out I don't think, probably only if your GI has advised it due to side effects? My dose has been 50mg, then 75, then 100, then 75 again, now 50 again and whatever combination of 50mg and 25mg I have to take at that point in time (can you tell I'm getting tired of the dose tweaking?!) I've always just taken together.

Ah, thank you both. I don't remember being advised to take them separately, it's just something I've done since day one. I'll try taking them both together in the morning and see if this causes any trouble.

Typical, I've remembered tonight's dose anyway but it has really started to slip recently. I've tried a late night alarm but I just snooze it and forget about it. I do take other meds in the evening so I do need to get back into the routine! I have all my medications in a pill wallet in my bag so I can't really split doses and leave odd pills lying around to remind me or I would get in a muddle about whether or not I've taken that days doses from the wallet.

I'm far too young to be this forgetful!!

You need a pillbox! One that has evening meds and morning meds. We did morning meds around breakfast and evening meds around dinner.

That said, we were only told to split the dose when my daughter had side effects with the full dose at once (nausea). I'm sure you could try taking the whole dose in the morning.

Thanks guys, my problem is I'm always on the move. I'll have to put a pill box in the car, one in the house, one at work and so on! :p

The app sounds like a great idea, I'll look into that now [emoji1303]

Thanks again everyone!

I organize all my meds every evening for the next day.
My 6mp prescription says take 2 pills in the morning, 50mg each. It's good to take your meds in some sort of schedule so you dont forget. Take Care. Lynda
