Moving from Biologic to Oral Medication

I am on Cimzia right now and wondering if it is possible/common to be on a biologic medication for a while and then move down to less "severe" oral medications?
Thanks!

I suppose it's possible. You could step down to an immunosuppressant such as azathioprine or methotrexate.

Is Cimzia causing problems for you? Is your disease well-controlled on cimzia? If you are doing well on Cimzia I would be reluctant to change medication. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Stopping a biologic increases the risk of forming anti-bodes to the drug making it difficult to go back to it if your step down doesn't work out.
