Undiagnosed and worried

I have been having a lot of stress for an extended period over an issue with my car to the point It had been on my mind upon wakening and going to bed.

A few months back I got very constipated to the point I was in pain in the abdomen and back, I managed to clear it with some over the counter laxitives but since then I have continued to have issues.

Thinking back i have never been regular but at least when i did go my stool was fully formed and looked generally healthy, but for the last few months i have been backed up constantly and had the worst flatulence on a a daily basis.

I have no pain or even any discomfort apart from that one time i mentioned above just an uneasy feeling at times like its fragile.

I basically eat something within an hour or so my abdomen area swells up and jeans feel tight and then i begin to have constant flatulance for hours and it is fowl smelling along with water retention all over.

MY GP put me on something called LAxido which helped initially to get some bowel movement but no longer does anything.

I have found coffee helps get movement but again it isn't fully formed nor is it diarrheah just mushy.

The stool sample they took said it was slightly inflamed I've noticed all my bowel movements when they have any form to them are very thin.. like long strands instead of wide and full...

Crohn's runs in my family my mum and cousin has it and i know my gramps had stomach problems also at one point.

I have tried for food triggers and it seems anything i eat within an hour they bloating/flatulance begins, i have tried gluten/dairy/wheat free made no difference.

The only night i had any relief and very little flatulance was when i had ice cream and greek yoghurt maybe it cooled down my intestines lol ?

Hi, I’m sorry to hear what you have been going through. I would recommend getting tested for intolerances like lactose and to see if you could be coeliac. I would at the same time request a fecal calproctectin stool test for bowel inflammation. Seeing as your mother has Crohn’s I would never wait around to get tested for digestive issues. Definitely make your doctor aware of the family history.
