Please help! Concerns over anus being removed

Last March I had a J Pouch take down, permanent ostomy put in, and most of my rectum removed. Now in 2020 I have to have the last 2-3 inches of rectum and anus removed that the surgeon left in and sewn up because it’s releasing mucous/fluid into my scar tissue, causing painful inclusion cysts. They’re going in through the bottom and most of the “heavy” work has already been done. My main concerns are the anus part. What kind of pain can I expect, for how long, sitting, leakage, and infection? Do they wound vac the area? Any worries for sexual function in women? Also, I’m an avid cyclist. How long til I can hit the saddle? I don’t see my doc for two weeks. Can anyone help with these questions? Thank you!

I can’t help Flynn but am sorry for what you’re going through. Wishing you a speedy recovery❤

5 years ago I had my anus and rectum as well as 3 inches on colon removed and have a permanent colostomy. this was due to cancer. The worst pain was in the hospital. If I remember I had wound care for about 6 weeks and then went to Maui for a weeks vacation. The recovery wasn’t too bad and not a lot of pain. The nurses said that full recovery would be 6 months. I had no infection. I do still have times when I fell like I need to take a poop on the toilet.

Like Mamalol, I have no real practical advice to give other than I'm really sorry you are going through this. I pray you are able to find some stability and lasting health soon Flynn.
