Stopping humira

I am being switched from humira to stelera, therefore I’ve had to stop injecting my humira and I am feeling awful. I still have a few weeks til my treatment starts, has anybody stopped their humira? And what were your side effects from stopping it? After being on it for over ten years, once a week, I am quite apprehensive!

My kiddo was on humira for over five years
It stopped working and was switched to Stelara
There are no side effects from stopping humira

However you may start to feel bad due to not having any drug on your system to control your controls
Are you using a bridge therapy (steriods ) while you wait for Stelara/and Stelara to work ??
Stelara can take months to be fully effective.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I think that’s what’s happening to me, I’m feeling so bad because I’ve got nothing to keep me well, I feel like I’ve been cut off cold turkey and now I’m struggling! The specialist didn’t prescribe any bride therapy, I’m wondering if to ring them tomorrow and explain my situation to see if they will perhaps give me some steroids to take? I’m worried that I’m going downhill, then it will take months for the stelera to work, so then I will just get worse and go into a bad flare. But if I do take steroids, will that mask whether the stelera is working for me?

Hi, can I ask why you were being switched. Did Humira lose it's effectivenesss over the years?
Hi. Yes apparently so unfortunately, it worked amazing at the start, then after ten years they have said that the results from my last scans show there is too much inflammation for a person who is on weekly humira. It definitely does keep some symptoms at bay, but i must not be enough! The strange thing is my scans were from 2 years ago and they are only just deciding this now.

I am on Humira again but I have built up antibodies to it so will be switching to Skyrizi. Is there anyone on it yet? Doctor is in the process of getting it approved thru my insurance.
