Anti Spasm Meds?

Location

One of my docs gave me some a few years ago, they didn't make me groggy, but they made my brain foggy and I couldn't concentrate.

The same - it makes me feel funny, but not sleepy. I'm curious - do they help with your pain? I may have already asked you that, I can't remember for sure… haha

I personally believe a lot of my daughters pain was caused from colon spasms. The Cortifoam, stopped the bleeding and pain for her. This is a great topic and could help a lot of people. What anti-spasm meds are out there and which ones seem to work for most people?

You know, it is a hit and miss wether they help with my pain. I think sometimes it makes me so drowsy that it helps me sleep so that i dont feel them, ya know

Pardon mi ignorance but what do you take ant spasm medd for never heard of them for crohns
Oh i had no idea these existed till this year and i have had crohns for 14 years! It is a bit crazy it took so long to discover them but ya, they help relax the intestinal lining to reduce the spasms and thus reduce pain.. sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesnt, but it definitely makes me tired

I agree! you should start the thread and if you would like, i could.. but this is something i just discovered this year existed...

Sarah, you start the thread and maybe we can all learn from it. I am not sure why we did not know about it either.....

Hmm i might discuss these with my gi as my colon and backside hurt like hell as thats where most of my crohns is. I can sometimes feel that area throbbing as well

Ozboz, they're usually more effective with IBS than IBD. Like Sarah said, it's kind of hit and miss. They don't do anything for my pain, but my doctor insists on prescribing them anyway. That's why I'm usually curious about whether or not they work for others. :p

I had them before diagnosis, about 3 years ago. Really it was because the doctors were too lazy to investigate the cause of my pain.

thanks for the info guys if I can avoid med's I will I was just hoping it was something to take for the pain and throbbing

Yeah I tried that it's so inflamed up there plus I leak alot of mucus watery stuff that either it hurts too much and I take it out or when I try and go to sleep I need to lie on my left side and sort of have a pillow there and kind of half roll my stomach on there then the leakage starts due to the inflamation it's a catch 22 for me
