Vitamin Deficiencies Without Inflammation

Hi all,

Still waiting to hear back on my histology results from my Colonoscopy earlier this month. However, in the meantime i've been pondering. The scope showed no inflammation in my bowel, all completely normal, though i've still to find out if their is sub-skin inflammation.

Does this suggest I won't have the issues absorbing vitamins other Chronies have. For example, my Crohn's is located in my TI, which makes me succeptible to low levels of B12. Is this still a risk when my TI looks fine on the scope? I'm wondering whether to start preemptively trialing some supplements.

Usually the doctor will pull labwork to check the vitamin levels in your blood? Did your doctor take any blood? If they did take blood and your levels were normal then they may have filed the results without telling you. Some doctors only tell you if there are abnormalities. It is worth a call.

Yeah I did have my blood taken in November, didn't hear anything back. So its likely my levels were checked as a part of this testing?

Possibly. I would call and double check your results from November too. Make sure they tested for vitamin deficiencies. When E was already asleep on the table for his procedures they pulled quite a bit of labwork. It wouldn't hurt to ask.
