Tattoo in crohns ??

I have been thinking for quite some time to get inked but am not sure what extra precautions should I take or should I simply give up the idea of a tattoo. I dont have any skin problems due to Crohn's. I would appreciate any member with a tattoo or any knowledge about it to give any word of advice or suggestions on this.

Hi there! I actually just got a tattoo, and I'm in the middle of a flare. My only advice would be to make sure you go to a clean, sanitary environment. Make sure the place you choose has a good reputation and teaches you how to take care of your tattoo! I've honestly never heard of needing to take extra precautions when getting a tattoo and having crohn's, especially since you don't have any skin problems. So I would say go right ahead! Getting a tattoo is fun and a cool way to express yourself, so good luck and I can't wait to hear about what you choose to get! :)

I've also seen a lot of people with tattoos that have Crohn's, including knowing somebody with 2 full sleeves plus leg work! Good luck. :)

I have a few tattoos, and I got one when I was on Prednisone. I thought it was healing slower because of that, but it turns out it just heals slower on the ankle. Just make sure you do take good care of it, because your immune system probably isn't as strong as the average person. I've never had any problems, so just go for it!
Good luck[emoji171]
