Wish me luck

I saw my lovely GI doctor this afternoon and he wants me to restart the Pentasa. Last time I took it for a little over 2 days and ended up in the hospital in horrible pain, vomiting and a fever of around 101°. Doc wants me to try it again since I've been on the Entocort for a month. I don't want to be on the heavy duty meds but I don't want to end up back in hospital again either:-(

I wish you the best. Let us know how it turns out. I don't know if it is true or not but I just read that Pentasa is for mild Crohns Disease. At one point, my doctor had me on Pentasa but he very quickly switched me to Lialda.

Good luck!!! I don't blame you for not wanting to be on the big guns. I hope things work for you this time around. Is your doctor keeping updated regularly to make sure how you're doing? Please keep us updated too. Lots of hugs being sent your way.

3rd dose must be the charm, not.
I was so excited thinking my doctor was right and being on the Entocort for over a month would have cleared the bowel up enough for the pentasa to work. I took dose number three this morning, around 4 hours later I got really tired, was belching a lot and had to run to the bathroom to expel gas. I don't nap during the day unless I'm super sick. I ended up sleeping for 2 hours. I woke up to horrible cramping and nausea. We had to run to the fireworks warehouse for tomorrow and as we pulled into the driveway I started throwing up violently. My husband said no more. Please wish me well guys. I've been crying a bit. I don't want another hospital stay, especially over a holiday I could be with my family celebrating. Thanks all.

Thanks, yes the doctor said from the go it may not work but because I have a history of ovarian cancer and lupus my GI wanted to try safest stuff first. This stuff makes me so sick. Just frustrated.

Lialda is mesalamine, I'm not sure how to send a pic on my smartphone but pentasa is also mesalamine. I take 8 freaking Lialda/Pentasa/Mesalamine pills a day. It sucks.
