    Causes of Crohns any guess

My Crohn’s affected my appendix too! Except it wasn’t bad yet. When I came out of surgery, they said “your colon was inflamed from your appendix”. A few months later I was sicker than I was before and got a colonoscopy and they found Crohn’s. So really it was Crohn’s affecting my appendix

    Causes of Crohns any guess

In my case, I was subjected to childhood emotional abuse. Right around the time that my mom was at her worst was when I started getting sick. I’m reading a book now about PTSD and how the body stores trauma, it’s been really eye opening. I went into remission in 2009 and up until recently I...

    Does prednisone cause shaking?

I had these symptoms at higher doses of pred in 2009, but I imagine even with a lower dose the side effects can still be just as terrible! I hope you can get off it soon

Terrible blood work and post op complications

I heard back today. Good news is I don’t have an infection or hernia. You can tell me that a thousand times and I will never get sick of hearing it. My liver is enlarged and there was stool in almost all of my colon. I’m not sure if I’m starting to have Crohn’s problems and it’s constipating me...

Terrible blood work and post op complications

I’m hoping to hear from my GI today. I got a CT on Friday. No rashes or pimples. Just intermittent pain on my left side. No spleen. But every doctor I’ve talked to said that WBC do go up if you don’t have a spleen, but not this high. My GI has always mentioned that my WBC typically runs higher...

    Fluid buildup after surgery

Thanks ❤️ I think a big part of the fluid is that my muscles are still trying to heal, but 2 of my doctors are really concerned I made another thread that kind of relates to this one https://crohnsforum.com/threads/terrible-blood-work-and-post-op-complications.85171/

Terrible blood work and post op complications

First, I don’t want to repeat myself, so if it seems like I skipped something, you can probably find it in this post. I’m kind of all over the place because a lot has happened https://crohnsforum.com/threads/fluid-buildup-after-surgery.85084/#post-1021240 I have failed almost every biological...

    Fluid buildup after surgery

I always feel a little weird talking about my surgeries on here because although Crohn’s is the catalyst to al of the surgeries, it’s not Crohn’s related. That being said, I am looking for some input (I’m also trying to get in contact with my surgeon, but he’s 1000 miles away. Just wondering if...

Best IBD Centre in US--Your Recommendation for Young Adults

People from all over the world go to Cleveland Clinic. Their IBD center is one of the best. I didn’t go to the IBD Clinic, but I had to have surgery there this past fall. It was by far the best hospital I’ve ever been to. If I ever needed to go there again, I wouldn’t hesitate in a second. The...

Holy cow, where have I been?!

First, I want to apologize for ghosting. The truth is, I was in a huge downward spiral. I was fighting against my mental health on top of my physical health and everything was overwhelming. I spent so much time helping people prior, I felt like nothing I was telling other people mattered if I...

    Another update

As I stated in my last update, I had an allergic reaction to remicade in November, and then an adverse reaction to Cimzia in December. I had a colonoscopy in December that showed mild inflammation, shallow ulcers and quite surprisingly, no signs of disease progression. In other words, I'm...

Getting first colonoscopy after 7 years. VERY nervous

The last colonoscopy I had went terribly wrong. I have had the same GI for the last 6 years, he is absolutely wonderful. He knows my history and has been very understanding when I tell him I am just not ready for another scope. Especially now, because my hernia is so bad and my organs are so...

Another bad reaction, running out of options

If you recall, I had an anaphylactic reaction to remicade 6 weeks ago. Almost killed me. Wednesday I had my first day of Cimzia. Thought everything was fine. About 10 pm my hear started racing, my abdomen started hurting, my chest was hurting and I was gasping for breath. Went to the ER. I had...

How do you balance being sick and work?

So much has changed in the last month, so I know that my body is just trying to get used to change, but I wanted to hear from other people. I will give a little back groud and explain what I am going through right now to see if anyone can relate and offer advice. I got fired from my last job...

Americans with Disabilities Act and my new job

I started a new job at the end of October. I work for a very large insurance company, the benefits are great, the job is awesome. I was trying to avoid the "I am chronically sick" topic but that didn't pan out because my need for frequent restroom breaks was noticed. I thought I was getting in...
