    Another flare symptom or 'normal'

DS is obviously flaring, or at least this is what we believe, however bloods all normal so docs not 100% sure. However he will have been on exclusive modulen for two weeks tomorrow, apart from day one of diet he has had no BM which I believe is normal, however last week he broke out in throat...

    Hearing Loss

Over the last couple of months J has been complaining about loosing his hearing it has now got to the point that he can hardly hear a thing, out of either ear. Seen a GP apparently there is a huge build up of fluid behind ear drum in both ears! Was initially given a nasal spray to try but...

    What would you do?

Haven't been on for a while; things were OK. J came off 6MP in the summer after it began to disagree with him. He had scopes in August and an MIR in September and all looked good, so he was left to continue without any long term medication. He did start to have so much more energy again...

Had scopes but no answers yet.....

DS has been a true star, taking bowel prep yesterday and having scopes today. He is so exhausted anyway that this was quite an effort for him. Heard nurses muttering as he was taken back up to ward to recover and we were then told that they couldn't complete the colonoscopy as they couldn't...

    Sharp tummy pain on exercise

We finally managed to get DS to a horse riding lesson today, just a private half an hour so he could do as little or as much as he wanted.... He was suffering was a lot of sharp pain in his tummy as he finished. This is not the first time he's had pain when trying to do anything too physical...

    Results

J's consultant phoned this morning, his latest blood showed low WBC's (don't know what) and have been told to stop 6MP straight away. Now have to keep him infection free! We knew things weren't right, he's been completely washed out for weeks and in so much pain and discomfort. Plan now to...

    Being inpatient....

Well, J is two weeks into both a complete Gluten and Dairy free diet. So far no signs of change. He's been even more uncomfortable in his tummy, several days of rushing to the loo, both waking in the morning and having to rush at night. Still exhausted as well and aching body after one games...

    Feeling positive

After a really good meeting with the dietician we've decided to start J on a gluten and dairy free diet, exclusive for 6 weeks and then try re-introducing. She thought this would be best place to start rather than jumping straight in to a FODMAP diet. We are all happy with this. During the...

    Laxative Usage

Don't know if anyone can help. J has been doing ok for last few months (apart from fatigue and odd cramps etc but we are getting used to living around that) bloods apparently came back fine from last GI appt as well. The only thing that has changed is that we were told to reduce his Omeprazole...

    Gerd

Son number 2 (non IBD) been diagnosed this week with GERD. We thought it was his asthma playing up. Should I be worried knowing the number of Crohn's sufferers with elements of both?!?! He has been given Ranitidine to take twice a day. No sign of improvement yet, still waking at 5am with...

    Tummy bug

DS has been struck with tummy bug, been on going since Tuesday. Was sick a couple of times, plus very loose BM, and leakage. Has eaten next to nothing since Tuesday tea time but is drinking. How long do you recommend I stay calm and believe it is just a tummy bug before I can officially worry...

    Mixed emotions

So, back from GI consult following J's scopes a month ago.... It was confirmed that J has no active crohns and is clear from inflammation. :) However, we still battle on with mouth ulcers and tiredness. Tiredness apparently is always going to be J's thing and hopefully the meetings with the...
