    Update on Matt

    Great news! Labs back after 2 months since stopping 6 mp.....liver is back to normal!! YAY:dance: SED rate is still down so no sign of inflammation coming back and at the moment pentasa is holding it down. Can't describe my current relief.....I feel a bit like crying. What a weight lifted...

    Pentasa liver issues

    Ok experts. Please read over and add any knowledge u may have... Here's my current issue... Son is 13...diagnosed 10 months ago..severe UC....entire colon. Steroids first which turned everything around then pentasa and 6mp. All symptoms seem to reverse..going real good EXCEPT. Liver labs...

    Ok...so some positive labs this week for Matt ....but of course they come with the usual concerns....so Put on your thinking caps everyone as I'm seeking some knowledge again! So the labs.....we have had an issue with high liver enzymes and that has not changed...now the good news.... Prometheus...

    Ive heard that milk thistle helps reduce the effect of 6mp on the liver... We bought some today for 13 year old with elevated ast and alt......but then we saw that it may have an estrogenic effect.... Two questions: 1- Does anyone know the preferred form of milk thistle? We bought a freeze...

    Just when things seemed better....

    Ok...so I thought things were going well for us and then the doc called today with info from recent labs..... He says liver enzymes are stable...still a little bit elevated but better since reducing the 6 mp from 50 mg to 37.5.....Hgb good......but iron and ferritin still low..improving slowly...

    Vitamin deficiency

    I recall seeing several people mention testing UC kids for various vitamin deficiencies ..we have lab work today and I want to ask if he's being tested for these levels....can anyone tell me what we should be checking for? B12? Vitamin D?, etc.....etc........ Are these tests normally done...
