• Welcome to Crohn's Forum, a support group for people with all forms of IBD. While this community is not a substitute for doctor's advice and we cannot treat or diagnose, we find being able to communicate with others who have IBD is invaluable as we navigate our struggles and celebrate our successes. This guy needs education on IBD and BM's

This just made me angry. This reporter needs a thousand emails to educate him on his insensitivity towards IBD suffering people. Minimally the Postal Service should have supplied him with a means to handle the emergency BM that caused the story. Have a read on this this link. Am I wrong...

Thought this was interesting, another angle. Inflammatory cues modulate goblet cell products important for intestinal barrier function http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2011-12/sfeb-icm120211.php

    Maybe note worthy, maybe not

They have shortened the time in between infusions from 8 weeks to 6 weeks. I have been experiencing what I am calling ghost pain, because we are not sure what is causing it. I have two weeks of relative pain free and then went down hill from there. Everything hurts, except for my bowels, go...

Pain that sends you to ER

I've been forced to go to ER twice now because of joint, muscle, tendon pain. They can't find arthritis of any kind yet. Wondering how many of us end up at ER for pain that can't be diagnosed and what where does the pain manifest itself?

    Chokecherry syrup with Stevia

chokecherry syrup with Stevia So I made Chokecherry syrup with Stevia. This is what I used, but of course with artistic license. You can adjust as you feel fit. This is what I had to process. 30 cups of chokecherry berries boiled down for 1/2 hour in pot with 7 cups of water. strained...

    Ouch

I counted up the days, because someone said keep a diary, and in the last 75 days I have been in enough pain to need help for 56 of them. I can't get in to see a doctor, they are all full. Yes I have pain meds, Tylenol 3 almost out and Ketorelac, nasty but good. They work, but I need to get...

Another theory on Crohn's cause - interesting

I picked this up from Crohn's Google search. Interesting read and more interesting the comments. http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/gnxp/2011/08/crohns-disease-is-about-barely-keeping-you-alive/

Review of medical approaches to IBD

I dug this up, interesting read. I was surprised at how few patients they tested some these drugs on or maybe that is the only trials they found to use. I am on Pentasa, according to the study it is a waste of money. I do notice a difference if I miss a dose. Maybe it is all in my mind...

Thought I could share this, another double blind study for LDN. They are planning clinical trials for use in children with Crohn's. My news search sent it to me. Here's to hoping, especially for the kids. http://live.psu.edu/story/53494

    Remicade process Alberta Canada

I have not seen this information on any forum. It surprised me and didn’t help my mental state, not knowing. So I want to share this with as many people who have, who live in Alberta, and are being put on Remicade, Sunlife Insurance Flex Care, or otherwise:study:. Your doctor will set you up...

    Methotrexate/Remicade and diet

When you start on and I am not sure whether both will be applied. Do you need to be careful on what you put into your gut or can you go for the gusto and eat what ever your taste buds have been missing for years? Should caution rule the day? Advice please.:sign0085:
