    Swelling after surgery

Hey folks. I know that everyone's surgery is different, but I'm just looking for some general experiences. My wife had surgery in mid-February to remove her sigmoid. She's been to her surgeon since then and just finished her last visit with him, complete with final sigmoid tests and everything...

    Surgery going on

After a few months of flare, my wife is in for surgery now. If all goes well, she'll come out in a while without her sigmoid colon. The surgeon is trying to do laproscopy, but isn't sure if it will work. After all the tests, we're not 100% sure of the extent of the damage or how far he will need...

    Surgery comoplications

A little while ago, I posted that my wife was getting ready for her first surgery http://www.crohnsforum.com/showthread.php?t=30203 Her condition was getting worse, but we had no way of judging how much worse or what to do about it. We called docs but it was the holidays and everyone was busy...

    First surgery

My wife and I got the call today that she'll need a bowel resection. The resection will be in the sigmoid colon. It looks like its involving a 3 inch part of the colon, is infected, probably abscessed and/or have a fistula associated (can't 100% tell from the CT scan). I'll keep doing...

    Methotrexate & Cimzia

Hi folks. My wife's GI wants to put her on Methotrexate. She's already on Cimzia. There's been a lot of studies now about the effectiveness of joining Methotrexate with a biologic. The information online is a bit overwhelming on this one. Normally, I'm pretty good at deciphering it all, but...

    Probiotics

probiotics My wife, who is the Crohn's sufferer strongly believes in probiotics. She takes a few and says they help a lot. I saw this on the web and it actually made me hopeful for all you Crohn's and Colitis people. I'm not saying you should run out and try them, and this is not an...

Hi hi. I know a lot of you ladies have had lots of infections .... sorry about that by the way. My wife has crohns & just got rolled off imuran and got put on Cymzia. In the process of it all, she somehow got a nasty infection of her Bartholin's gland(s). She had one drained already, now...

    Hair loss

hair loss My wife is on Asacol, Entocort and Cimzia. She's getting hair loss. It's not noticeable from looking at her, but you can see it when she washes or combs her hair. I know some hair loss is normal, but her loss is unusual. I've heard that lack of protein can cause that and that...

never really said hi I never bothered to say hi, just started posting . I'm like that http://www.crohnsforum.com/MedC/smilies/yrolleyes.gif anyway, i'm not the crohn's sufferer, my wife is. She was diagnosed in the fall of 2006 (if my memory is right). In her mid-40's she'd never had any...

    Fallout from imuran

fallout from imuran hi there! My wife is the crohn's sufferer. Her doc started her on imuran about 3-4 weeks ago. The first week and a half were ok -- no real issues. Then she started having swelling on her right side, bloating and nausea. Since it had been so long and other things were...

Kinda silly general question about Christmas

kinda silly general question about Christmas Hi all, not a really deep or profound question, I suppose, about medications or physical reactions. Here's my story (and, as my friend used to say "I'm stuck with it"). Sorry if it's a bit wordy ;-) I don't have Crohn's. I do have fibromyalgia so...
