    Bleeding

    How to tell if bleeding is from IBD or something else? I had bleeding which stopped after being on prednisone for a week. However it came back a day after I decreased my prednisone dose.

    I had the capsule study done today as part lf the IBD workup. I have been on pred for 2 weeks prior to this. The capsule passed before I was supposed to return to have the belt and such removed

    Saw GI. Plan is to do the capsule. If it shows something then start meds. If not then go back off prednisone and if symptoms happens again then maybe go on an oral maintenance med to see if it or events symptoms from reoccurring

    I might switch PCPs to the provider who saw me this last hospitalization as he is seeing new patients. He at least seemed to understand that frustration and offered to contact other providers and even run my case by the rest of his colleagues. One thing that was mentioned was Behcet's disease...

    I am working with GI. This last round of bleeding he told me to see how it progresses. I ended up being admitted to the hospital. My GI said he is suspicious that it is IBD but has no concrete evidence.

    The provider in the hospital was going to talk to other GIs but I don’t think he did. I will have to talk to my PCP although my GI gave me a referral to another GI many years ago. The hospital provider prescribed me 40 mg for 10 days so I will have to talk to my GI on how to taper off it.

    I had messaged my primary care physician regarding my flare of symptoms and his suggestion was to stop eating all meats and increase fiber.

    Gave me some IV steroids and now oral prednisone. The doctor is going to check with other providers to get other insight on what else he can do/try. He even mentioned he would call other GIs.
