Prometheus Test - High Remicade Serum Level

Our son's last Prometheus test showed a Serum Infliximab level Concentration of 32 and 0 antibodies. This test was preformed 4 weeks into a 8 week cycle. As a result of this high level, and confirmed remission, his doctor suggests extending cycle from 8 weeks to 10 weeks. He is on the lowest...

Anybody on a drug called Letrozole?

My son was put on Femara, also called Letrozole, by his Pediatric Endocrinologist to suppress estrogen to keep his growth plates open since he appears to be in rapid tempo puberty. Anyone have any experience with this drug, and especially in combination with Remicade?

    Low WBC and Absolute Neutrophil

My son is currently on 6mp and receives Remicade infusions every 8 weeks. Blood was drawn prior to his last infusion this past Friday and, while his Crohn's symptoms and blood work indicates his Crohn's is well controlled, his WBC was 4.0 and his Abs Neutrophil count was 1.7. We are retesting...

    Fluctuation in SED rate

Today at our son's 8 week infusion, his bloodwork came back with a SED rate of 23. His SED rate 4 weeks ago was 16. He has no outward symptoms of Crohn's. All his other numbers were the same as the previous test, with the exception of a slight decrease in hemoglobin and hematocrit. His GI doctor...

Worried about immune suppression on Remicade and 6mp?

My son has been doing really well since his initial loading dose of Remicade a little over 2 weeks ago. Initial blood work indicates a dramatic reduction in SED rate!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to work and he doesn't develop antibodies to the Remicade. He is going to a swim...

    6mp change in dosage

So I took my son to his GI today for blood work and to discuss some symptoms that could indicate a flare. This past week he developed a canker sore and had a few bouts of nauseousness, along with being tired for several weeks. He has been off Prednisone for 1 month and has been on 50mg of 6mp...

    Post Prednisone Energy

My son has been off Prednisone for 3 weeks and has just been lacking energy and more tired than normal. We called his GI and she said it will take some time for adrenal function to become normal again and for regular energy levels to return. Just wondering about everyone's else experience is...

Clindamyacin for unknown swelling in jawline

So frustrated...everything has been going well until my son developed a red, warm to the touch inflammation on his jawline. Thought it was dental so took him in for x-rays, nothing to do with his teeth. No fever, no signs of a viral infection. Dentist thinks it could be his lymph nodes due to...

    6MP in Children

My 12 year old son started 6MP started 9 days ago and we were told by his doctor that it would take about 6 weeks to start building in his system. I have read that is more like 3 months. Does 6MP ramp up faster in a child than an adult? I am worried that he will be prone to a flare, as he will...
