    Bad one, ended well...so far.

I was feeling great. Meds appeared to be working, no pains fro several months, and then: Bang! That familiar unrelenting pain hits the right side of my abdomen...the one where I just know I'll be in the ER in a few hours...and I was. CT scan revealed that my Ileum was blocked (again), and...

    First dose done

Went and got my first dose of Ventyvio today. It all went fine. So far i feel quite normal, so no acute side effects as a result of the treatment. Will see how I feel the next few days, and they gave me 24/7 phone number to call if I have any reactions. Good free wi-fi at the hospital too, so...

    Positive side ffect :-)

Had one unexpected (but not so unexpected after I googled it) side effect form predsnisone. For the last two years I have been plagued by skin rasjes on my legs, upper arms, and dry, flaky skin under my eyes... All of that disappeared within days after starting prednisone. Hey even my mom...

    Taper down question

I have been on 60mg prednisone daily for 2 weeks (30 mg morning and 30 mg evening), and started the taopering down period today. So from today I am supposed to cut the dose in half to 30mg by skipping the evening dose, that is I only take my morning dose, and skip the one in the evening. And...

    Sir Fart-a-Lot

Ia m currently on Questran in an effort to get my Crohn's induced diarrhea under controll. That has more or less worked, and my poop is forming up much better I love the talks we can have on this forum :ylol2:). But it has the side effect that at night I have become Sir Fart-a-lot, so much so...

Is it the Prednisone that makes me pee a lot?

Hi started prednisone the weekend before easter, and since then I am peeing a lot more. I also feel thirsty all the time. And drink a little more as well, so that could be the explanation...but for a week, I have had to get up around 2 in the morning to pee...and wake up at 5-6 again with a full...

I have tried Been on Prednisolon, Imurel, Methraxeate (pills and injections), humira with no effect. I am now starting on Entyvio. If it works, what will happen? I ahve had diarhea for 15 years, and six resections of my small bowel. Once becaause my ileum was perforated, and 4 because of...

    New treatment for me...

After having gone trough 5 resections of the small bowel (I feel like a length of pepperoni), in ten years, my Surgeon today came up with an entirely new medication regime for me. Previously I have tried: Prednisonol - no effect. Then Imurel, but the side ffects nearly killed me...actually...

    What was that?

Yesterday I had quite a flare up. It started after dinner, with the typical pains in the area around the ileum, and quickly progressed to terrible pain. They type I only have had when my small intestine has been completly blocked at the iluem, resulting in me having had 5 bowel resections in 7...

    Humira failed, surgery next

Well, I had a fantastic summer. Walked in the hills almost daily, had lots of energy etc, all thanks to a combo of Methotrexate and Humira. That is, after I started taking Humira weekly. Then 2 weeks ago my stricture kicked me in the guts again (I foolishly ate a raw turnip). So after a night...

    Final leg on Humira

Well, well, 6 months of Humira, and I have been flaring on and off for the last 6 weeks. I do injection every 2 weeks along with a couple of other meds that I take once a week and daily. Overall I am in better shape than I was around x-mas when I started Humira. On good days I am excercising...

    I wan't to scream!

I thought I was in remission. I have not had any pain for months. My test numbers where way down, and heading towards "healthy chrons patient" and this afternoon a familiar throbbing started to make itself felt in my right side abdomen...quickly turning into such pain it sent me looking for my...

    Oh glorious day!

I just passed a solid, fully formed stool for the first time in years! And just realised that I have not been on the porcelain since yesterday evening! And that with no pain....that is, I have felt a very minor discomfort, not more than that I have to think about it to really feel it! Off to...

    Here we go

I'm on humira and Methotrexate, both are working to lower my immune system. Now both my oldest and my youngest kid have the chicken pox. And their middle brother finished his a week ago. I had it as a child so I can't get it again, but on reading some advice on how to help the kids with the...
