• Welcome to Crohn's Forum, a support group for people with all forms of IBD. Sticky Medical Marijuana for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis

As far as I'm concerned, it is a godsend. Until I started with a 3mg of LDN in January, whenever I traveled and could not smoke marijuana I became "sick--felt lousy, discomfort, diarrhea 8 times a day, the was even when I was on Humira. With marijauana, felt well until end of last year when the...

I Started This 1 month ago and what a difference

I've had Crohn's for 50 years and developed a stricture in my terminal ileum that reduced its lumen diameter to just 6mm. Humira was no longer working and I was not doing well. I was advised to have surgery and made an appointment with the surgeon. Based on discussions on this board, I asked my...

Sticky Medical Marijuana for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis

It is my experience that the marijuana acts as an anti-inflammatory and has other benefits including how it makes you feel mentally. Some like the feeling while others don't. Thus, to answer your question, if the purpose is to reduce inflammation, let the steroids work first. If you like the way...

    Partial obstruction--i'm confused

A recent ct shows (terminal ileum) 12 cm of active crohn's involvement with a 6 cm stricture and a 6 mm lumen opening. I have all the symptoms of a partial blockage except for pain--rather, i'm constantly uncomfortable. I still suffer from diarrhea as I have for the last 45 years. My Gi...

Sticky Medical Marijuana for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis

Lisa; I've told each and every doctor I see, including my GI, a rheumatologist, infectious diseases and an orthopedic surgeon, and none has specifically advised nor did they say don't use. They know it's helping but, in my judgment, their ethics prohibit them from encouraging its use. Do the...

Sticky Medical Marijuana for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis

I believe the marijuana reduces inflammation as well as masking the pain and discomfort. Although a predictor of the need for surgery, I've gone 50 years without making me somewhat unique. I'm not advocating that anyone use marijuana just that it has helped me tremendously.

Sticky Medical Marijuana for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis

I've had Crohn's for about 50 years but never so severe as to require surgery or extreme pain. Instead, I've suffered from diarrhea for this time--at 1st 3 times per day but now from 5 to 8. Everyday I'm uncomfortable. I take Humira and I smoke a lot of marijuana. I've been smoking ever since...

    Should I have surgery?

I have Crohn's ( I have it for 45 years, I'm now 68) and am suffering from a partial blockage--it's been coming on for a long time and has been getting worse. I've been on prednisone since early Sept and started humira 5 weeks ago but had to delay a dose when i came down with a respiratory...

    I need an attitude adjustment

I've had Crohn's for many years but fortunately, it has not been severe--little pain but constant diarrhea for 45 years. Unfortunately, my condition is getting worse. My latest colonoscopy reveals a stricture and the biopsy shows chronic inflammation as does my CRP high sensitivity. I'm taking...

    Diarrhea for 45 years

Its been constant for the last 45 years; 3 to 8 times per day. As opposed to pain, my condition is "uncomfortable". Is this normal? Do people ever get over this and go normally? Surprisingly, I'm overweight and generally healthy. I eat little and whatever I eat just flies through me. For the...

    1 in 7 billion

Hello; I'm now 67 and believe I developed Crohns when I was 22 and in law school. My symptoms were constant diarrhea--I never had the pain or discomfort many of you suffer. My condition got me out of the draft. For years after, I would complain to my doctors but my complaints were always...
