    How does mucosal healing occur?

Very strange observation... never heard such thing... At least your gi is positive. Mine will always look to negative things, and dont care if some part of the bowel are healed if others are still inflammed...

    Another Stricture

Yeah man sounds a lot, but actually the symptoms were the same than having only one and the surgeons didnt seem to be surprised or worried about it... they said they had seen worst cases with more strictures... that’s what crohns do at the end, in every point you find disease, strictures can...

Remicade anti-TNF therapy has not yielded expected declines in hospitalisation and intestinal resection rates in inflammatory bowel diseases

Kiny, thank you again for your very interesting replies. However you are maybe a bit unfair with some of the new biologics. entyvio takes months to work, cause if i’m not wrong it binds new lymphocytes T to activate inside the gi tract... so for months the old ones will still be activated...

Remicade anti-TNF therapy has not yielded expected declines in hospitalisation and intestinal resection rates in inflammatory bowel diseases

What would be an optimal level of vitamin D you think? I checked my levels this year and last year and they were around 35-40, so not low but not high... Regarding the GM-CSF i've found studies and trials... don't seem to be miraculous so far, but they probably need to work on it and find the...

    Another Stricture

Sorry you feel that way. The timing of the surgery around august seems perfect then. Hope you’ll feel great after it. I was also constantly anemic before starting 2 entyvio years ago. Thought inflammation was under control then as hemoglobin was great and pcr low, but aparently not. Hard to...

Remicade anti-TNF therapy has not yielded expected declines in hospitalisation and intestinal resection rates in inflammatory bowel diseases

I guess many scientists and doctors don’t agree with this theory, otherwise they’d suggest different therapies, right? Or they don’t event know about it??

    Another Stricture

In my case strictures are in mid ileum. Baloon dilatation through colonscopy is almost impossible as it’s too far away i guess (1 meter up the ic valve). Also I usually develop a lot of strictures, during my surgery (2013) they found out like 7 strictures they fixed through strictureplasty. 2...

    Another Stricture

You had 4 surgeries for resection? I guess after the second it was laparectomy? When did you start with biologics, after the forth surgery or before? I think too higher levels of stelara may help.

    Another Stricture

Hi Grant, I have the same issue with recurrent strictures in my ileum. If the stricture is due to inflammation, getting the disease under control, could help getting rid of it. How many surgery you had, and whats your treatment?

So completely annoyed with my GI!

I’ve also this impression GI don’t even think we have lifes, jobs, friends, relations outside crohn’s disease management.... Getting answer from them outside appointments is always difficult, if they are late or change your plan last minute, they dont care... It’s crazy the time we waste in...

Remicade anti-TNF therapy has not yielded expected declines in hospitalisation and intestinal resection rates in inflammatory bowel diseases

http://jem.rupress.org/content/206/9/1839 this macrophage theory seems to have been already discussed in some studies. Now, could they find a cure easier if this is right? :D
