Doctor will not write me a prescription for remicade unless I get a colonoscopy

I've had Crohns since I was 8. I've been on Remicade the past 15 years. It has been the best drug for me. I get a very high dose every month and it keeps me stable. Because of insurance issues, I haven't been able to get one the past 2 and a half months, and I also had to switch doctors because...

Why a Trump presidency could be very good for people with Crohns

I know politics doesn't get talked about around here, but I thought many of you would find some hope in this. During Trump's speech a few weeks ago in Gettysburg, he talked about "cutting the red tape" and speeding up the process to get drugs approved at the FDA. Could be very good for people...

    Patent on remicade question.

Does anyone know when the patent on this drug runs out? It's been around for 15+ years it should be way past time for generic drugs to come out. I had an infusion recently at a hospital that cost 70k dollars. It's ridiculous. Remicade is a fine powder that is mixed with a saline solution and...

    Anyone experience remicade withdrawl?

Has anyone every tried stopping remicade cold turkey? I know, for most, this isn't even possible. I've been able to take control of my illness through diet. This had been proven in my bloodwork, my changes in bowel habits and movements, and my weight increase. I would like I get off remicade...

My BM's haven't looked this good since I can remember...

My coworker who has celiac introduced me to Sushi a few weeks back. I've been eating a ton of salmon rolls and california rolls w/ salmon the past couple weeks. I can't remember the last time my poop has looked this good. It literally comes out like a log, perfectly, and sinks to the bottom. I...

    Can remicade cause anemia?

I'm curious to know if this drug may have an effect in hemoglobin levels in the blood? Since it's infused directly into the bloodstream, is there some type of interaction it has with red blood cells?

I'm about to start this job away from home, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be working 5 days a week. Currently I get remicade infusions every 4 weeks. Does anyone have any experience with this? Can you get infusions done on the weekend? I can't be taking days off in the middle of the week. Any...

    I hate my body

I hate my intestines. Seriously, if there's one organ in your body (besides heart and brain) that I would want to function properly it's my intestines. I'm so sick of this.

So I haven't posted in awhile because I've been doing really well. If any of you posted 4-5 months ago and remember me you would know things were not so good for me last summer/fall. When I'm healthy and fit I usually take my shirt off whenever I'm around the water. However, I have two scars. 1 from the G- tube and one long vertical scar on my abdomen about 5 inches long from a resection I had about 8 years ago. I get asked sometimes what my scars are from. The last time...
