    Bowel Prep Club

Tips, tricks, distractions. We've all been there. We will all be there again. I start my bowel prep in 3.5 hours. Not excited. This site has some silly flash games: http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/ My favorite stress reliever is called "Fish Ball." You push a ball under the surface of...

Anybody out there on Pred right now? Is it helping your symptoms? Are you having crazy side effects? My joints are FINALLY starting to hurt less. :thumleft:

    C diff club

I've had it. I've been told people with IBD "just get it." The treatment for it sucks. Let's talk about C. diff and how awful it is/what we can do to prevent or treat it. I was given Flagyl when I had it, which was so, so unbelievably awful. Zofran just barely took the edge off the nausea so...

Anyone else have this? I am guessing I have either psoriasis or "extra-intestinal" skin inflammation. Mine is on the back of my neck so I mistook it for severe dandruff for years. Until the Humira cleared it up entirely. Now I think it's slowly coming back (I'm off the Humira). I hate it.

    Surgery - Remission

Well technically I am in remission and my surgery was a "success" so I thought I would post here. I am wary, it is still under a month since it was done and I don't want to jinx myself by saying I'm good to go, but I thought I would post that surgery was the right choice for me and I'm so glad I...

    Prep Time

Not sure when to start my prep. The box says your doc will tell you when to start - hmm! All I know is am not supposed to eat or drink anything after midnight - not even water. The box says to take the pill first and then after I have my first bowel movement (1-6 hours) or after 6 hours if no...

    Giant colon! "Coco"

Sorry if this has been posted already, I did a search and didn't see it. Relay for Life in Reno has a giant colon for people to explore, it's for colon cancer awareness. Pretty cool! I think it's going to tour the country? I skimmed the article. :p...

I'm scheduled for a right colectomy 6/15. Hopefully I can get down on the Prednisone by then. I am so excited! When they actually scheduled me in the system I felt this overwhelming sense of joy and relief. I didn't realize fully until now just how much I wanted this! She seemed to think it...

If you could eat anything you wanted

Right now, what would it be? I just saw the most delicious looking picture of a caramel apple and now I want one, but I don't think that would be a very good idea.

    Couch to 5k

Started the couch to 5k today. It's not pretty, but then it never is. Actually when I finished I was thinking to myself, "Gosh that was a lot easier than I had anticipated." Then I realized I had programmed my watch to do half the workout! Anyway here's what square one looks like: I...

    Swallowing Pentasa

I know there was a thread where we talked about Pentasa getting stuck in the throat, but I couldn't find it (I did try searching for it). I am developing a theory on why this happens. Feel free to tell me I'm crazy. I learned about enteric coating in my biochemistry class a couple years ago...

    Help! Nausea

Last night I became extremely dizzy/nauseous and had to stop what I was doing and find food. I ate and felt somewhat better, but not all better. Now I woke up this morning and I am still pretty nauseous. What do I/can I do? I think the Flagyl is what's doing this. Is there anything OTC I can...

I guess me and my GI see things differently. Went in yesterday because on Monday (2/14) I was having so much pain I couldn't eat, I ended up eating liquids for almost three days (I had to stop when I started getting dizzy). Go in to the appointment, the only thing the ARNP at my GI's office...

    Low blood sugar?

I have been having some "problems" lately, different from my usual. I have been having a lot of pain with eating. Doesn't seem to matter what I eat, but if I eat a small amount slowly I am ok. Thus, I have been eating a lot less lately, sometimes forgetting to eat, and I think this has been...

    Symptom Friendly Foods

Lately I have developed a new symptom.... which is mainly hitting an 8/10 on the pain scale right before I have to go... It's weird because the pain feels like it's in my stomach, but it's definitely when I have to have BM. I am thinking of cutting my diet down to just Ensure and applesauce for...

I guess I'm just feeling down. I was suspecting that I was "flaring" for the last month. I started getting these real low grade fevers, and I was having trouble keeping up at practice/on trail skates. I was working a lot of OT and between that and practice I was driving myself into the ground. I...

Is it normal to be exhausted with Crohn's Disease

When I was in high school I didn't really eat food. I was also on the track team, doing sprints, pole vault (well, attempting it anyway), and discus. We had practice for at least an hour every day and I was exhausted. I finally came to the realization that I couldn't live without energy anymore...
