• Welcome to Crohn's Forum, a support group for people with all forms of IBD. While this community is not a substitute for doctor's advice and we cannot treat or diagnose, we find being able to communicate with others who have IBD is invaluable as we navigate our struggles and celebrate our successes. How likely is Crohn's colitis to evolve into affecting the small bowel

I'm afraid, I'm not sure. I do know though that my UC has moved around a bit since I was diagnosed in 1996. However, I have also been seen by two different GI doctors. The best I can say is that each person is different. Wish I could help more. Cross-stitch

Diarrhea and Remission - Do Foods Trigger This?

Hi. Yes, I've been in remission for a bit and still get symptoms occasionally once in awhile. The cause could be foods, stress and even my time of the month will do it. Doesn't actually mean I'm really in a flare, just part of the game for me. However, if the symptoms do happen I do my best...

Thoughts on routine Colonoscopy during Pandemic

I had a routine colonoscopy done the last day in September and had no problem at all. I was diagnosed over 20 years ago and my GI had been bugging me to do it. I too am in remission although, he did find some inflammation. I'm sure all will be fine with you too! Take care! :)

Double colonoscopy prep? Shout out to those prepping in the next few days...

Just wanted to let you know that I've been there with the frustration. Sad to hear that nothing was found, but also thankful too. Afraid best thing I can do is send you lots of hugs right now. Please keep us updated. 🤗

🤦‍♀️ Calling all moms with daughters. 🙄It's finally happened.

I'm turning 42 next week and even now have terrible periods. When I began getting mine at, 11 or 12 mine weren't regular and eventually stopped until I was into my later teens (partly from being underweight and partly because I hadn't been diagnosed yet). At that time, they came with awful...

    Work and benefits/ I'm a bit worried

Were you able to get taken care of firefly? I'm sorry to have just seen this post and not really able to help with any suggestions. But, I would think that it wouldn't hurt to at least try your GI to see if that might help with your situation. Please keep us updated on how you're doing!

    Colds & Ear Infections

I'm afraid that I don't have a real answer to your question. But, Friday evening my husband and I observed that I have an ear infection and have been treating it. I seem to be slowly getting better from it though a couple days later...

    26 year Veteran Crohn's Disease

Welcome! Boy, time does go fast. Believe it or not, I was diagnosed 2 years later when I was 18. Although, I was told by my parents that I'd had symptoms pretty much all my life. Yup, things have changed a lot through the years and most of it is in a good way. Have a good day!!!!

    Family history of Crohn’s.... anyone??

We think my Granny had IBD but, aren't quite sure since she seemed to have quite a few ailments. I do know that she was Lactose Intolerant and also died of Alzheimer's. I also know that Mom has Diverticulitis and has been hospitalized a few times from it. And, at least one of my cousins has...

    Apriso vs. Generic mesalamine

Sorry to hear that, but thankful to hear that you're getting the help you need. Good luck and I hope things will start working again for you. :)

    Apriso vs. Generic mesalamine

I'm afraid that I haven't had any problem with generics. Is this prescription any stronger or weaker than you've been taking? If so, it might take a little bit for your body to get used to it. If it seems to causing a flare, I'd make sure to contact your doctor though. They might have some...

If I'm not in a flare, will the colonoscopy show anything?

I'm not in a flare either, but my GI is bugging me to do one too and I will later this year. I was diagnosed over 20 years ago and because of that, my doctors want to do a colonoscopy on me every 2 years. Reason being, because I was diagnosed that long ago that I'm more prone to Colon Cancer...

Can you fly after a scope

Yes, you'd be fine to fly. The only time there'd be any problem is if you had any complications from that and ended up in the hospital. If you're still concerned, you can contact your doctor's office about this. But, I'd think there should be no worry about this.

Have you told at work about your health problems?

Reason why I have, is because I've been there as long as I have. I've been at my workplace for many years and they've seen me through a very bad flare. Honestly, when I obtain a brand new manager who doesn't know me or my work, I don't tell them right away. I want them to know me for how I...

    Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency(EPI)

When my GI responded about this, he said that this is more of a PCP type thing. But, when I see him in February I may find out a little more on this subject...

    Are you drinking coffee?

We have a Keurig machine here at home. Mainly my husband uses it for his coffee in the mornings and it gets him going (with caffeine). But, occasionally I have a cup of decaf. But, I think why it does alright for me is that we put a bunch of lactose free milk in ours. So, it's not straight...

    Eye Problems / Iritis

I have had it and was diagnosed by my optometrist. I knew nothing about it until he mentioned it, but haven't been told anymore about my having it for years. Iritis seemed to be part of my flare and gets better when I'm not flaring. I remember being very sensitive to light, my eyes being sore...

Help! Can anyone tell me if they think these Capsule Endoscopy images can in anyway be normal??!

In 2013 I changed insurances through my work, because I couldn't get a true second opinion and had to go through my original GI no matter what. At the time my GI wanted to believe that I had Crohn's (so that's what she saw) and wouldn't hear anything except her desire to put me on Humira or the...

    Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency(EPI)

Hi. I was wondering how many on here might happen to have this on here and if there is much difference to IBD? I'm contacting my GI to find a little more about it and thinking about seeing if he might be able to check me for it. Any info would be appreciated! Thank you, Cross-stitch
