Contradictory WBC Scan and Endoscopy, unclear diagnosis. Help!

After 18months of tests I still have an unclassified diagnosis and am getting contradictory test results, although I have responded really well to treatment with pred. (I'd even started putting back on a little weight although it's now falling off again at pace). A WBC scan a few months ago...

    Prednisolone and blood glucose

I've now been on pred for two weeks and am tapering down but have noticed symptoms that indicate increasingly high blood glucose over the last few days (very frequent urination, constant thirst, tiredness, blurred vision). I got a fasted blood test in the morning but wondered if anyone else has...

Should I ask for Elemental 028?

I've been on pred for a week now but my weight is still nose-diving and appetite hasn't returned although my CD symptoms have calmed down. I have to see my GP on Friday to get further pred but a dietitian friend suggested I also ask for supplemental Elemental 028. Has anyone else asked for...

First time on pred for Crohn's

Three days into taking pred i seem to start the day bouncing off the ceiling with energy but by mid-morning I've crashed and burned and just want to sleep. No other obvious side-effects so far so I shouldn't complain but have others had a similar experience? Does this continue as the dose tapers...

    Non-stop mouth ulcers

I know I'm not alone in having constant mouth ulcers (11 in the last month grrr) but is there anything you can do to reduce the frequency or severity of them? I've been flaring so realise they're going to be worse than normal but the pain is actually worse than the pain in my abdomen or rear. Help!

    Six days on from fistulotomy

I had surgery last Thursday for a fistula and this is the first day I'm starting to feel normal again. I've been taking salt baths 3-4 times a day, laxatives and resting a lot. As its been very warm, I've been keeping clean with unscented baby wipes (Huggies are a wonder!) When you don't rest...

    Recovery after fistula surgery

I'm due to have surgery for a fistula next week (either laying open or likely a seton) and would be grateful to hear of others experiences, particularly how quickly recovery is and also how soon you can start exercising again. I usually train every day and even a couple of weeks off will be a...

    Still no proper diagnosis

I first started having problems 16 years ago when I had my first fistula. Then I contracted salmonella on holiday and from then onwards have had bad bouts of diarrhoea pretty regularly - the last one lasted for over a year. I've been to various doctors and been referred to a hospital four times...
