If you stop Humira, can your Crohns return even worse?

Basically I want to know if there is a rebound effect where stopping Humira means your Crohns comes back even worse than before you ever took it. My doctor told me that Humira helps my flare ups but I can't really see a different in how I feel from before I started it.

Anyone ever have a case of both their Humira pens being defective?

I ask because the first pen I used was extremely painful and I had to pull it out so I didn't get hardly any dose. I then spoke with a Humira nurse who said it was okay to use the second one and that they would send me a replacement pen. So I used the second one just now and THAT was a mess...

High abdominal soreness. Obstruction or "normal" flare-up pain?

Hi. I have often read about the terrible pain people experience with Crohns, and for some reason I've never actually gotten abdominal pain real bad where you bend over and can't function. (Maybe because my Crohns is limited to the upper and lower small intestines?) But yesterday at around 4pm I...

I'm on Medicaid and might move. What if no GI doctor is nearby?

Since I'm on Medicaid and it is hard to find GI doctors that accept it, I'm wondering what will happen when I move. It will likely be a small town in Maine, and looking through the various doctor rating websites it seems there are slim pickings out in the boonies. My question is: Will Medicaid...

Big ugly bruise on back of leg after Humira injection

Hi. I've attached a picture of a bruise that appeared on the back of my leg, on the opposite side of where I injected Humira four days ago (I injected on the top of my thigh and the bruise is about eight inches below my buttock, which is opposite of the injection site). I only noticed the bruise...

How deep to push in Humira syringe needle

Hi there. For some reason my insurance or pharmacy gave me the syringe form of Humira, instead of the pen type that I'm used to. My question is: how deep do you push in the needle? Do you push it in all the way to the nub, or so half of the needle is showing, or a third? Thanks.

Stored my Humira in fridge inside styrofoam. Still usable?

I received my Humira in the styrofoam box with the cold packs, but I think I might have screwed up. I was keeping the whole thing stored in fridge, without taking the pens' cartons out of the styrofoam box. Is it possible the pens got warm inside the styrofoam since the styrofoam would impede...

    Taking pain pills before injecting?

In two days I will be taking my first four shots of Humira. I was wondering if it would be alright to take half a hydrocodone or other pain pill before doing it, because I've heard it can be very painful. Especially since it's four. Plus I don't want to develop a big anxiety issue about...

Given one 20mg Prednisone pill, bad restlessness

Hi. I'm a bit of a nervous wreck here. Yesterday my new GI doctor prescibed me a month's worth of 20mg prednisone to take in the morning and 10mg to take a night because of a bad flare up. Had never taken pred. before. Felt great at first but then felt too great and got increasingly restless and...
