Stelara every 12 weeks in the UK, not frequent enough?

My daughters are both on 8-week cycle Stelara and notice symptoms around the beginning of week 7. There is a blood test to test the amount of drug on board that you take 2 days before your next scheduled injection. We are in progress of getting that done. If it is too low then GI doc will...

    Ayurveda for crohns disease

Get your wife on a biologic as soon as possible, this disease is about avoiding damage to your body and buying time until better medications or a cure comes along. You can try other wholistic "things" alongside but don't take the risk of those alone. I would recommend Stelara as the first...

    Need advice again.

Did your GI tell you his reasoning for choosing Humira over other biologic options?

    Need advice again.

The best replacement for cows milk is Blue Diamond unsweetened vanilla almond milk... also you need to stay on your GI's office to get your insurance approval underway. A lot of time these docs pass this off to their assistants and you need to follow-up to make sure it gets done timely...

    Need advice again.

My daughters have been on Remicade, Humira, and Stelara. I have not had any issues with the insurance companies covering anything the GI docs wanted to use. Also, the price for all three was roughly similar... if you have insurance then you pay $5.00 per injection. I would say push for...

    Need advice again.

I would recommend Stelara as your first biologic to try. 1 infusion to start then an injection every 8 weeks. I have 2 daughters on it and both in remission. Our GI docs say Stelara becoming the first choice in their practice. Need to get started on it while you taper off the prednisone.

    Switching from Remicade to Stelara

Hi Everyone, It has been a while since my last update but I am happy to report that both of my daughters have switched to Stelara over the spring and summer and are both doing well. Initially, we were just moving Renee off Remicade to Stelara but then Julia began to fall out of an 11-year...

Stopping 6MP while continuing on Remicade

My daughter Renee has been doing well on a 6MP / Remicade combo for several years now and is technically in remission. She does experience headaches and fatigue occasionally. Several months ago her 6MP dose was reduced from 100mg to 50mg/day. Recent blood tests show no Remicade antibody...

    Remicade Advice

My daughter is on Remicade/6MP and has tested with no immunity to chickenpox. She had the vaccine as a child. She needs the chickenpox booster vaccine to continue in nursing school which she can not have while on Remicade. We are discussing with her GI the possibility of suspending Remicade...

    Abscess on Liver

Renee developed an abscess on her liver and had to have 15cc of pus drained. Spent 3 days in the hospital on morphine and antibiotics. Doctors decided to discontinue all meds except for Remicade and antibiotics believing that 100mg of 6MP over suppressed her immune system. Think I will...
