Healthcare and Crohn's - need advice please

Seriously? I am trying my best not to be rude in anyway. But, can you please stop? I don't care about any other countries "wonderful" health policies. This is not helping me. I am only looking for solutions for America. And I am very thankful to those who have helped me. (I am on the...

Healthcare and Crohn's - need advice please

You mean Johnson and Johnson for the medication? I did that. They refer me to their foundation and jannsen carepath. And I am on carepath. But, that will expire once I do not have medical insurance.

Healthcare and Crohn's - need advice please

I was going to just ignore the Socialists from Europe, but then you stepped up. So, thank you for chiming in. I guess on my original post I did not think of asking for American's only to respond. The rest of the world who lives in Communist or Socialist societies clearly don't understand the...

Healthcare and Crohn's - need advice please

You have not helped at all... Why are you soap boxing about how great "Europe" is? And how does that help me? No way in hell I am paying 40% of my income in taxes for garbage healthcare. Why do you think most people from Canada, UK, Germany, etc fly to Costa Rica, Mexico, Malaysia, Thailand...

Healthcare and Crohn's - need advice please

Thanks. Yes - Stelara is the last medication that I can try. All others have failed after a while. And unfortunately, as you know, Stelara is now the most expensive drug in the world. It is crazy. My existing insurance has covered Stelara twice now. And as of Friday, I was finally able to...

Healthcare and Crohn's - need advice please

First, thanks for the response. Second, please don't get political on any forum. Third, I have checked into the countries you mentioned and their healthcare sucks and the taxes are outrageous. And on top of that, unless you run across the borders illegally, you are not able to just get a...

Healthcare and Crohn's - need advice please

Thanks for the response. I currently have anthem blue cross blue shield as part of my old company Group plan. It is really good. But, I already talked with them and every other private insurance company and they will not cover pre existing conditions. It doesn't matter if I currently have...

    Crohns in appendix??

Mine was the exact opposite. My appendix became inflamed and almost ruptured during one of my surgeries. So, they thankfully removed it. Dr's say some people do have appendix issues as well as gallbladder stones. I had that removed too this year. Crohn's affects multiple parts of your body...

My story with Crohn's and Lower Back Pain

Looks like in the thread you solved the problem. Good for you. For many years, I knew it had to do with the muscles and nerves. But recently, after multiple tests, apparently severe inflammation can also get to your spinal cord. So, the Dr is recommending for me to get two vertebrae...

    Low blood pressure

What my Gastro Dr told me was that "some" people with advanced Crohn's do get low blood pressure. It is because the body gets dehydrated very quickly due to trips to the bathroom and not getting all the nutrients through food (passes so quickly). The deficiencies are iron, zinc, B12, folic...

    Low blood pressure

The coconut water is very good for the body. But for Crohn's, it is a problem for some. Coconuts are a natural laxative. I tried it just one day and it almost doubled the amount of times I had to go to the bathroom. On a usual day, it is 10-14 times. When I drank the C water, I had to go...

Healthcare and Crohn's - need advice please

Wondering if anyone is in a similar position that I am in and could share their experience or if they found a solution. I am 52 and have had Crohn's for about 31 years. On and off battles, drugs, therapies, clinical trials, surgeries, etc. Last year, came out of remission hard again, but this...

Appendix removal = more chances of getting Crohns disease??

I was in clinical trials for a new drug (and I failed) and the personnel with the Pharma company told me that it is very common for these three things to happen when a person has Crohn's: appendix inflammation, Gallbladder stones then removal and herpes.
