    Humira Fail What Next..

Everyone is different, but FYI, my son failed Stelara and is doing wonderfully on Skyrizi, and by that I mean he has no symptoms whatsoever and his latest colonoscopy results were excellent, showing that his gut has healed :)

Starting Skyrizi next week.. need some support and some questions

I can only give you the experience of one person on Skyrizi, but for what it's worth, my son has been on Skyrizi since last May. It's the third biologic he has tried. His Crohn's is mainly in his large intestine. Stelara worked some but not enough. Entyvio worked less than the Stelara. Skyrizi...

    Carnivore diet.

I wonder whether it's about what people cut out that was bothering them rather than the fact of eating a lot of meat. My son, a vegetarian, had an enormous improvement in symptoms just by cutting out dairy and chocolate. It stopped his bloating and pain and he needed the bathroom much less. I...

    Carnivore diet.

Have you had any imaging to see whether your inflammation is actually down? Have you ever tried a diet in which you just omitted specific substances such as chocolate, dairy, caffeine, or gluten?

    I am now in remission

Actually, the study that scares me most about red meat is this one: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3650111/ However, I think we could go around and around on this one, and basically I just wish everyone good health.

    I am now in remission

Personally, I would worry about the other health risks inherent in eating large quantities of red meat for long periods of time. Wishing everyone good health.

    I am now in remission

The lack of controlled studies with this diet and Crohn's leaves me feeling skeptical.

    Hair loss after starting Stelara?

For the controlled experiment here, I have identical twins. One is on Stelara, one is not. They look like they have the same amount of hair.

Entyvio vs Stelara - looking for advice

Your son sounds a lot like my sons, with needle phobias and disease focused on the descending colon. One of mine is now considered in endoscopic remission on the Stelara. Stelara was three infusions and then the rest have been injections. We've found that either his college health services nurse...

Why isn't EEN a main treatment over prednisone?

I had heard from a doc that EEN is less effective in isolated colonic disease, and this article seems to support that idea: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30193873/ I'm wondering whether you've run across studies to the contrary.

Why isn't EEN a main treatment over prednisone?

Thanks for sharing all of your wisdom. I'm storing it away for when it might be useful. Doc says EEN isn't a good option for now for my son since he just started a new medication, but it's good to learn about it.

Why isn't EEN a main treatment over prednisone?

That would be wonderful if someone could come up with a more solid form of EEN - great idea. In the meantime, I wish you lots of luck with this. Please keep us updated!

Why isn't EEN a main treatment over prednisone?

My son said he would be open to EEN at some point, but I'm not sure he can picture how hard it would be. What sort of physical therapy helped with the bone loss?
