    What could this be?

I noticed that whenever I am gassy and have a BM the toilet fills with blood and even after my BM I am sitting on the loo and the blood drips out. My GI said I have an external fissure which I very much doubt as I have no pain during BM's. I do get itchy at times and I used GTN ointment for 1...

    Weekly Humira

Saw my GI this evening after work as the abcess on my ass is back plus I have lost 3 kg (6 pounds/half a stone - I think) due to diarhoea caused by Flagyl & Ciprofloxacin which were initially prescribed for the abcess. He prescribed another course of Cipro plus pro-biotcs and Forceval to help me...

Weight Gain on a Low Income

I'm desperate to get back to my normal weight of 62 kg. Last year I went down to 42 kg and post surgery am now at around 55 - 56 kg. I don't have too far to go yet it seems impossible. The weight just does not go on. Any ideas how I can get a bit chunkier on a really crappy income? Thanks...

Amazed (and horrified) with all the various CD symptoms

I was thinking this morning, having woken up with a sore throat, that since CD is an auto-immune disorder exactly how many symptoms are CD related. I decided to make a list of the ones that I have had or currently have apart from the obvious direct CD related symptoms (diarrhoea, pain...

    Pulmonary Embolism following Surgery

So this is how shitty my life has been recently. I had a resection performed on 24th August for a perforated ileum and have been recovering nicely and started Humira, started to gain weight and have been pain free for the first time in a long, long, long time. Things were really looking up. I...

    Is it ok to self-diagnose?

I'm starting Humira next Tuesday and naturally I am apprehensive - not so much about injecting myself but more so of the results. The last few days I have had an intense pain in the area of the ilieum, a sharp stabbing pain that had me doubled over and in tears. No other usual symptoms, no...

    Greetings from the Med

I was very pleased (and surprised) to find this amazing forum yesterday that I had to become a member. I am from Cyprus and somewhat of a rarity here as a Crohn's patient since the disease is not that widely known here. I was diagnosed back in 1998 and prescribed Salofalk (Mesalazine) which I...
