Has anyone tried the Wim Hof method?

First off, you're probably wondering who Wim Hof is. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wim_Hof Wim Hof (born 20 April 1959) is a Dutch daredevil, commonly nicknamed "The Iceman" for his ability to withstand extreme cold, which he attributes to exposure to cold, meditation and breathing techniques...

Pain to beat all pain, SHINGLES!

Fricking frickity frick frick. Noticed a few days after my second infusion/loading dose of Remi that I had this patchy, rash starting from the lower left side of my back, down my buttock, and to the top of my leg. The pain is un-fricking real. Feels like my leg/buttock is on fire. Noticed...

For the love of God, someone help me prepare for my colonoscopy (klean prep)

I've tried to drink it, I have, two 250ml glasses and I've vomited from both. I can't do it, I also tried ringing the hospital but the department is closed on Sundays. All I've had to eat the past 12 hours is a slice of white bread and butter. Any natural remedies I can try? Lots of water? :(

    Is erythromycin effective for abscess/fistulas?

Went to my GP on Friday, got examined, he agreed that it seemed an infection was starting again due pain, solid mass and some discharge, gave me a prescription for erythromycin, was expecting the usual Flagyl/Cipro combo which does wonders but, alas, he didn't. Last time I had backside...

    Anyone doing/did the Insanity workout?

I'm seriously considering trying it or something similar (P90x) as I'm just sick of being out of shape, I eat to much junk, I still smoke after my GI pleaded with me to stop (basically being a stupid tosspot, also, I vow to give up those smokes, whether it drives me to the brink of ...

    Claustrophobia and Pelvic MRI

Have one scheduled in a couple of weeks, I guess it's something to do with my Fistula(s). I'm very claustrophobic, to the point I won't get into even an elevator unless its one of those glass ones in a shopping centre/mall. Just how bad is it?

    Colonoscopy induced flare?

Is there such a thing? Ever since I've had my colonoscopy done 6th of Wednesday I've had cramps, soft to watery stools and right just now I noticed a little small bit of blood in the toilet ....... I've been in remission since January 2011 and this would be such a kick in the teeth if the prep +...

Really, Klean Prep, you spawn of Satan! (HELP) :O

I was supposed to drink 4 litres of the stuff (four sachets), could only manage one last night and one this morning, so two overall (colonoscopy at 1:30pm, yay me). So, have I dun goofed? I just can't drink anymore of the stuff and the thought of it makes me fume! Didn't think it was possible...

Can someone give me some info? (Conscious sedation and a colonoscopy)

According to my GI, it's the norm now for patients to be awake, or under "conscious sedation" as she put it, whilst having a colonoscopy. I'm going for a routine one at the start of February and I'm really anxious as I'd prefer to be KO'd (I love the feeling of going under! lol) and not awake...

Oh crap .... am I in trouble?

So, around the January mark I was to see my GI, unfortunately I forgot all about it, luckily I got a letter sent out saying that I have another date for the 15th of Feb ..... With that letter was a warning that if I miss this date I will be discharged back to my GP .... Now, usually my hospital...

Man United Midfielder diagnosed with UC

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/dec/13/darren-fletcher-illness-manchester-united :( He's taking an extended break for the rest of the season to get his health sorted out. Hopefully he'll be able to play at the top level again but as we all know even in remission your stamina takes a...

    Humira and colds?

So about 2 days ago I started to get the sniffles, runny nose, constant sneezing and itchy/watery/irritable eyes, I put down to the horrible air freshener my mum bought, seen as the last time she bought it, it messed me up, but now it feels more like a cold as I've moved the air freshener from...

    Crohn's Meds and Finasteride (Propecia)

Does anyone know if there is any contraindications with the active ingredient of Propecia (Finasteride) and current Crohn's meds i.e Humira, Remicade, Imuran, Corticosteriods, Mesalamine? The reason I ask is because I'm considering starting Propecia for thinning hair, it can be a very scary...

    Smoking and Crohn's Colitis . . . .

. . . . . . Would it have the same "benefits" (I use that word loosely, haha) as it would in someone with Ulcerative Colitis? Seeing as it's limited to the Colon?

Very interesting article on anti-TNF drugs and Immunomodulators

http://www.ccfa.org/webcasts/Risk%20and%20BenefitsTranscript.pdf Another member posted this an old thread that I didn't want to revive so I thought I'd re-post it. It's a good 10-15 minute read but it's well worth it, trust me. I've being looking stats on Imuran/6-MP/Remicade/Himura...

    Anyone have allergies?

The reason I'm asking is because seeing as no one in my family has a history of digestive problems, does anyone think people with allergies are at a higher risk to develop an auto-immune ailment? I've suffered with Hay fever all my life and we all know allergies are caused by an over active...

How long have you been on Prednisolone for?

I've been on it for nearly 5 months! No side affects, which is nice, I guess. But what's the longest you or someone you know has been on Pred? Just curious.

    Quick Imuran Question

:sign0085: I'm currently on 100mg of Imuran and my doctor is considering raising the dose to 150mg. What I'm curious about is whether that dose is considered, normal, high or average? I heard it has something to do with your weight also. If that's the case I'm a 22 year old male, weigh...
