    Stopping Aza, soon starting 6mp

Hiya everyone, I will be soon stopping the Aza for the second time, first time was because of neutropenia (200mg dose) and this time because constant headaches, fatigue and a bit of a grumpy tum (125mg dose). My GI has decided to try me on 6mp so I am just waiting for a script to be sorted...

    Off the prednisone - wahoo!!

Just a little FYI - I have managed to taper off the pred without tummy problems  I stopped it over a week ago and apart from a couple of tiny niggles that I know were food related I have been fine. Looks like the Aza is doing it's job :) NB Had a few joint pains and fatigue but I have...

    Unexpected blood results...

Howdy everyone. I am nearly at week six of my Aza re-start and am at 75mg. I have a query about some of my blood results (yes still on weekly tests currently - yawn) and it is to do with my WBC and neutrophil counts. Surprisingly enough instead of being low they are actually high!! According to...

    LGBT Crohn's Patients

Hi there, I just also wanted to add my support to you guys. Until I saw this thread it never entered my head that anyone in the LGBT community would be treated differently so thank you for opening my eyes  It is so disappointing that these prejudices are still alive and strong and like...

    Welcome back Azathioprine!!!

Hello everyone :bigwave: After several phone calls today and a dash to my GP and Tesco pharmacy I am offically back on the Aza. My GI doc is taking things slowly and has started me on 25mg daily and then 25mg increments every two weeks until I get to 125mg - of course this is only if the...

Colonoscopy done - back on the Pred

Hi all, had my colonoscopy done this afternoon. The prep was the worst I have ever experienced (this was my 7th colonoscopy), I drank the picolax last night at 6pm and spent a good part of the evening throwing up. It was bad enough that I didn't do the Klean Prep this morning but this didn't...

    Question for the girlies

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if you find that having your period makes your crohns sysmptoms worse? Not sure if this has been asked before but I wanted to know if I was the only one who has this happen and if anyone knows why having my period makes my tummy worse than normal. Thanks in...

Hi, I am not sure if people use this but it came to mind especially as I currently have a grumpy tummy. As you know a little problem with having D a fews times a day is that you get a sore bum, well if Sudocrem can help a little baby's bottom it can certainly help mine! I apply some during the...

    Hi everyone!

I have been diagnosed with crohns disease for nine and a half years since shortly before my seventeenth birthday and I thought it was about time that I joined a forum and spoke to people who have gone through the same or similar issues as I have. Over the years I have been put on a range of...
