• Welcome to Crohn's Forum, a support group for people with all forms of IBD. While this community is not a substitute for doctor's advice and we cannot treat or diagnose, we find being able to communicate with others who have IBD is invaluable as we navigate our struggles and celebrate our successes. We invite you to join us.

Crohn's disease/IBD may be caused by infection with MAP and that MAP infection may possibly be contracted through human ingestion of unpasteurized and pasteurized milk and cattle products. Moreover, these studies further suggest that the possible cure (or at least long-term remission) for Crohn's disease may be treatment with certain combinations of anti-mycobacterial antibiotics which has effective against MAP.

Has anyone heard of the Paratuberculosis Awareness & Research Association (PARA) before?

I'm always interested in new research finding and developments in the world of Crohn's. It appears from the associations website that this finding is quite controversial and researchers are having a hard time obtaining funding to study it.
