I was mis diagnosed for 6 years. I was sent to Dr. Wolf in fall of 1999. He properly diagnosed me and worked ( as he still does ) with the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota to get my Crohn's under better control. He is one of the best in the country. He is still my Gastro and will remain so until either I'm cured oe he retires.

He may be smart, but he has TERRIBLE bedside manner. Saw him a few times, but couldn't handle how short and rude he was. Quickly switched to Dr. Dalton at Piedmont

Dr Wolf is extremely competent in the diagnosis and treatment of IBDs, with over 30 years experience in the clinic and in the research arena he ranks as a world-class specialist. He is referred to by many other physicians because of his in depth knowledge and therefore maintains a busy schedule, which puts him on the cooler side of bedside manner. If you bare with his abrupt manner you will benefit by his expertise.

My Support Groups:
I have been to Dr. Wolfe and plenty of others in Atlanta. Atlanta Gastro is a huge bureaucracy. Thus I cannot stand dealing with them. As such I have made the decision that in order for me to get the treatment needed I'll have to go out of state when I need a doctor. This is by choice since I cannot stand the Gastro Doc's in metro atlanta. I have either had been recommended for surgery when it wasn't needed or put on drugs that screwed me up. No thanks - I will go through the hassle of getting on a plane to go see the experts in Chicago.

Ive been going to Dr. Wolf for almost a year. My first appointment was terrible - I had to give my history twice because he messed up his computer and lost the info. I was there for 3 hours. My experience is that even though he takes notes, he forgets what he told you and doesn't look it up. He doesn't seem to give people credit for knowing something about their condition. I've had Crohn's for 21 years. I had a pretty bad flare and he told me to drink gatorade. His other suggestion was that I try some pepto-bismol. He does have me on Cimzia but it's not working. He's not changing dose schedules or anything. I'm very unhappy, but was referred to him by the gastro I've had for a long time. She felt that a different viewpoint might help me. Now, I'm not sure where else to go.
