• Welcome to Crohn's Forum, a support group for people with all forms of IBD. While this community is not a substitute for doctor's advice and we cannot treat or diagnose, we find being able to communicate with others who have IBD is invaluable as we navigate our struggles and celebrate our successes. Anti-TNF Biologics Less Effective at Inducing IBD Remission in Older (>60 Years) vs. Younger Patients

San Diego
Anti-TNFs such as Remicade or Humira were shown to be less effective at inducing remission when given as a first biologic to patients older than 60 years vs. those younger than 60 years. Older patients showed a 38% clinical remission rate vs 61% for younger patients after 52 weeks of anti-TNF treatment.
