I've been having chronic diarrhea, horrible abdominal pain and random fevers for over a year. I'm not the kind of person that likes to run off to the doctor, but through my families persistence I finally was referred to a G.I. specialist and he recommended to do a colonoscopy and endoscope which will happen today (also my birthday). I've had a CT scan which came back fine, all my blood test came back fine except that I am severely vitamin D insufficient. I had a colonoscopy back into 2011 which showed colitis, polyps, fistula and a "blue discoloraction of my cecum." I was only 24 at the time and the doctor told me that he was not worried about something like Crohns because I was "too young." Come to find out now that doctor had no idea what he was talking about....
Regardless today is the big day and I am so torn and anxious. Obviously no one ever wishes to find out something is wrong with them but on the other hand if they find absolutely nothing, than what is going on? The discomfort and unpredictable "episodes"really feel like they are starting to consume my life.
