Autism spectrum disorders and the gastrointestinal tract: insights into mechanisms and clinical relevance

I've had Crohn's since I was 5 but just being diagnosed with ASD at 44. Looking back, all of my major flares followed a major uncontrollable change in my life. There is definitely a link there.
I believe my son may have ASD and seeing him grow up he has a huge amout of anxiety and stress. Being different in some way and not fitting in, being bullied and having touble making friends has meant he has had more stress than a standard child. There was some evidence of stress being a factor for Crohn's.
