-fungal communities differed between healthy children and those with CD

-faecal samples showed EN caused dramatic changes in fungal communities and diversity, more so than in bacterial communities

-fungus S. cerevisiae (ASCA yeast) significantly decreased during EEN

-subjects with lower calprotectin during food reintroduction had lower fungi diversity

-29 fungal OTU significantly differed between patients with low calprotectin (<250 mg/kg) and raised calprotectin (>250 mg/kg)

-ASCA positive patients had a higher abundance of three OTUs of fungus S. cerevisiae

-after discontinuation of EN, microbial changes reversed to their prior state
