Balloon dilation

Anyone had a balloon dilation of a stricture? I have a 5-6 inch stricture in my ileum that I KNOW is causing most of my problems and I have done some research and just wondered if anyone has had this procedure and how it went and if it helped.

I am also wondering about balloon dilation. I 've read on the Internet a couple of studies where it was successful.

I've asked the gastroenterologists if it would work on me, but they say It is a very dangerous procedure and they do not want to do it. The main risk is the bowel might not resist the preasure and it can blow.

It think this procedure is much better to go directly to a surgery, but doctors do not want to risk.
