Is there an identified cause of the initial apthoid lesions found in Crohn's?
Or is the development of apthoid lesions within intestinal mucosa linked to the causes of disease itself - as in genetics, environment, infection, inappropriate immune response etc?
I'm currently writing a paper and am confused, considering the inflammatory response is said to occur AFTER apthoid lesion development, though what is causing these lesions in the first place?
