Possible polyp.confirmed on Ct also.subsequent ct scan didn't show mass. Fast forward to 2017. New GI doctor says he found nodule cecum mass and recommended surgery. He says he had been seeing mass on. Colonoscopies. He referred me to GI surgeon.confirmed on ct scan. Gi surgeon wanted me to wait 6 months and repeat Ct scan. Repeat scan 3/2018. Scan report says mass not seen. GI surgeon has postponed my surgery for now. Waiting to talk to GI doctor. Has anyone else experienced this? Now seeing liver specialists that wants biopsy of liver. Alk phosphatase elevated and lesion and hemangioma found on liver.I want surgery to remove mass. I believe it is still there but CT missed. Scared surgeon will not do surgery now. Please help. Sorry so long winded.

Ask if there is other testing that can be done to confirm mass.

Hi Tummytrouble77,

An MRI may do a better job of taking a look inside. Have they tried one? I hope the mass is gone, I agree with Ron though, I would ask for more testing to see if it's still there. How do they expect you to go on with life normally while not knowing what's up? Best wishes for a positive outcome.

Take care,

Chris

I suggest repeating the colonoscopy. Your mass first seen via colonoscopy, confirmed by CT scan, then unconfirmed by CT scan. I'd say repeat the colonoscopy for a tie-breaker. If the doctor can see it with his/her own eyes, it's there.
