Do i have Crohns?

Hi... My name is Kira and Im a 31 year old female.

For the past 2 months, I have been in constant pain. The pain is in my upper abdominal area just between the ribs. It feels like a cramping, pulsing kind of pain. It settles quite a bit when im laying down to almost going away but just enough to remind me that its still there. When i try to get up and move about the pain climbs rapidly to the point where its hard to breathe.

Im also constantly freezing cold to the point during one of the hottest days in Sydney, i was wearing a woollen jumper and my skin was still cold to touch.

Im lethargic and tired to the point i am struggling to take care of myself.

I had blood tests, and endoscopy, colonoscopy, ct scan, ultrasound and even a bone scan (in case it was referred pain from my stomach). I havent gotten the biopsy results back but i was told that both my stomach and colon looked good.

But the pain hasnt gone away. I havent lost significant weight... Only a couple of kilos in the last two months. Ive had blood in my stool off and on for about 3 years but hadnt really thought much of it and though i had bouts of diarrhoea i thought that it was due to my lactose intolerance.

I know i dont tick the usual boxes for crohns but does anyone with crohns have my kind of symptoms?

Im starting to seriously lose it a bit. The fact that i dont know whats wrong with me is very upsetting and i havent been able to go to work for almost 2 months now either. I was hoping someone could help me get some answers so i can work towards getting treatment rather than simply sitting about in pain.

Sorry for the long winded post. The frustration is starting to hit really hard.

Have you had a MRI? It might show something the other tests haven't shown? Also, when you talked about always being cold, i have issues with being cold and it has to do with my thyroid. You might ask your doctor about that.

Have you had any lab tests such as fecal calprotectin or CRP? They won't nail down a diagnosis, but they might provide information on whether you are suffering from inflammation.

Also, you may wish to discuss with you doc whether to do a capsule camera endoscopy or MRI to get an assessment of your small bowel.

There are an indication of inflammation but we dont know where yet... And since i did just get the results of the colonoscopy which was clean im guessing the small bowel is where we will look at next... This has been so far a truly exhausting process and the inability to see specialists quickly is making things truly difficult and drawn out T.T... Thank you for the advice
