Doctors appointment tomorrow

Hello everybody my names Cory caceres, I'm 22yo m who has been battling the symptoms of crohns since high school... Feeling bloated, pain in lower right stomach and occasional diarrhea, under weight, ect...

I always just ignored it thinking it was just a upset stomach or something,
But it's only getting worse sever stomach pain right lower side, mucus In stool, nausea, heat flashes, frequent bowel movements, heartburn, fatigue I went to see my doc but he was out so I seen a replacement who put me on carafate, omeprazole, bentyl she did a lot of blood work, a rectal exam, and did a fecal test

I got the results back not sure what they mean

Interpretive information: calprotectin fecal
50/ ug/g or less: normal

51-120 ug/g: borderline elevated, test should be re-evaluated in 4-6weeks

121 ug/g or grater: abnormal, sugestive of inflammatory bowel disease( ibd)

Does that mean I have ibd, any help or advice would be great

I have a appointment with my doc Tomorrow just not sure what to expect...

Hi there and a very warm welcome to the forum :)

I'm sorry that you've been having this trouble, it's not much fun when you're in pain and don't know why exactly, hopefully you're appointment tomorrow will give you some answers and something to help. I really hope it goes well, please come back and let us know how you get on. What was the result of your fecal test? Take care and best wishes. :ghug:

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and fast reply

Hello again :)

I think those are just the different levels are which the test is measured, were you given a single value that fell into one of those brackets? Mine was a measurement of 232.

So I had my appointment today and the dr said my test results seemed normal so he referred me to a gastrologist, they said I should hear back within the week.

I still feel yucky, lol (that's an understatement)
But at least my doctor is taking it seriously now
He got to see me at my worst yesterday
Strangely enough I don't feel that bad today ( at least not yet)
I'm just glade I'm finally getting help :)
Thank you for replying, it's nice to talk to somebody who know how it feels.

It means an awful lot to be listened to and to be taken seriously. Here the doctor has 10 minute appointments for each patient and it can be difficult to convey my worries in such a short time. I'm really glad you are getting somewhere with your doctor :).

Look after yourself and take care. :ghug:

It was the best visit I've ha so far
But that's just becouse my doc finaly seen me while at my worst...
When he first walked in you could tell he was like "not this again"
But after seeing my hunched over in pain and pale as a ghost he got serious finally...
After talking and answering some questions he informed me that my blood work looked normal an he wanted to redue the fecal test then he said other than that he's unable to help me, But he would refer me to a specialist.

I'm just waiting to hear from the specialist about an appointment hopefully it happens soon
Thanks for checking on me guys you all awsome :)

glad to hear you're going to see a specialist. I don't understand these cynical doctors who think everyone's faking or seeking attention. :ymad: Good thing he could see you were in pain and decided to refer you. Make up a list of all symptoms and any questions before you go to see the specialist. You'll get more out of the appointment if you are prepared ahead of time! :)

I'm sorry your tests didn't show the problem. Boy that sounds familiar for so many of us. I hope you get your answers one way or another. Go see a good specialist and have as many tests as you can and hopefully, they will show the problem. Bless you hun!Feel better soon!:ghug:
