I drive a lot. 1.5 hrs about 120 km to and from work three times a week. I love driving and the drive is an easy drive. For the last two weeks I am seriously struggling to stay focussed on driving. I get really sleepy. It feels like the vibrations of the car trigger something in my head and I zone out. I have ten lesions in the front of my brain and sometimes get neurological symptoms, normally loss of sensation in my face, arms. No palsy and it's not TIA. I take my blood sugar levels for diabetes before I drive and make sure they are ok, and they are. I have been in my current CD flare for one year now.
I end up hitting myself, driving with the window down, singing, telling myself to stay focussed but nothing really works. I end up by pulling over and walking for a bit. Although sometimes it's hard to pick that I feel so fuzzy. Last week I opened my eyes to the oncoming lights of a big truck. Is it fatigue from chrons and lack of sleep? I don't yawn I just go light headed and dopey. I have been thinking about taking some energy drinks to help, but they aren't too good for me in the long run. Maybe my lack of sleep over the last year is finally catching up with me? Has anyone had any similar experiences?
