Duodenal cat scan findings

Oh crud!now I have stranding seen on a cat scan tonight with a duodenal ulcer. Anyone else have duodenal disease?is this your garden variety ulcer or crohns?i also have thickening in my ileum with enlargEd lymph nodes with stranding also in the ileum..of course, all my blood work is normal!cripes!help me out please!!

Has the doctor determined if the ulcer in your duodenum is a normal ulcer or related to Crohn's? Have they changed your meds up at all?

Thanks David! The other gi docktrs I recently saw we're not impressed one bit by the duodenal ulcer by cat scan. They said basically that a cat scan is a poor test for this particular ulcer. My mre and colonoscopy didn't reveal a duodenal ulcer(strange indeed) bu did show a few creations in the stomach that they said were just your garden variety ulcers as all path reports came back clean.go figure!im glad though that it wasn't crohns!

Not really other than to start back on nexium. I've never had ulcers other than crohns so this was new to me although I have dealt with gerd. I'm just glad it wasn't a new spot for crohns!

You may want to ask them if they think h.pylori may be involved and if an antibiotic may help you.
