Fecal calprotectin and colds

I thought I had read somewhere that FCP can be effected by colds. We are overdue for one so I am eager to do it as soon as possible. She started with a sore throat last Wednesday, headache and low grade fever Thursday that lasted a day, and now just remaining congestion and nasal drainage. How long should I wait to test? Thanks if you can help!

A cold shouldn't affect a fecal calprotectin. There is a possibility if the cold/flu brought with it gastrointestinal issues but as long as she was fine gastro wise through the cold you should be fine to test.

Good Luck!

It didn’t make sense to me, glad to know it was bad info. Thanks!
