Feeling like a Puffalump...Do you ever request labs?

I have been so swollen the last several days, feeling feverish however no elevated temp, flushed, & my right side has sharp, get your attention pains and spasms periodically...and fatigue, goodness! I can feel the swelling all over. Do you ever request labs like sed rate and such to see where you are? My next GI apointment is still 3 1/2 weeks out.

Thanks, Ron. I have just been back to work for two weeks from all those surgeries from the Fall and I can't believe issues are already showing back up. The fistula seems to be healing, thank goodness. Can't seem to catch a break. I don't want to seem pushy asking for tests, but I can't afford for more missed days and definitely don't want more hospital visits any time soon.

See since I am mom
Pediatric specialists expect "pushy moms"
Basically you call explain symptoms
And ask since your feeling so poorly does the doc want labs repeated
This way if the doc feels they are necessary then they order them
But either way they know your symptoms
Most times they call back saying to go get labs and stool samples

Thanks...gonna try that route. I guess since I have been though so much lately I don't even trust my own judgment. I don't want to call or go in if there is no reason, but I figured I would stay half way healthy at least for a while. When I saw my GI in December he said I was "Murphy's Law...if it can happen, it's gonna happen." Yay me...

I always call or email my Dr if I feel something is wrong. He usually requests the labs and then schedules an appointment.
