Finally getting answers

Hey, so recently was diagnosed with IBD. They say it's crohns, but not sure if it's ulcerative colitis.

Back in 2005, I was diagnosed with acid reflux, then GERD. After many tests, no ulcers. On medication to maintain the acid. Over time had many issues with my GI tract, and was diagnosed with everything. Lazy stomach, spastic duodenum, slow large intestine, lactose intolerant, gluten sensitive, celiac disease... And given medicines. All to which nothing worked. After time they said it was IBS.

About 5 yrs ago... It started to get worse. I'd get sick with what they would say is the flu... Couldn't eat, nauseated by everything, couldn't get out of bed except running to the bathroom, dropped weight, and lethargic/fatigued. I'd get boils on my legs, and my anemia would get worse.

This would happen about 1-2 a year. Never more than 20lbs lost, then I'd slowly gain the weight back. Continuing with the IBS issues, and what I call "alien" inside me whether I eat or not. It moves and makes noise everything from my rib cages to... Well... Yeah. I'd also suffer from bouts of dumping syndrome (undigested food).

I started getting these really bad attacks, and a doctor randomly said to do a ultrasound scan to check my spleen. Instead they found my gallbladder packed with tiny stones. I was 27 then, and in my normal weight 130lbs. After the surgery months later of getting it removed, the pain continued. Felt like gallstone attacks, to the point I'd puke.

This was the norm... Until a replacement doctor this May. I said I had to keep going to the washroom, had diarrhea for about 2 weeks. She did a stool test, blood test and ordered an ultrasound. Went back in in June, and I was 24lbs skinnier. She was worried and did another blood test. They believed it was Crohn's. Got a specialist, colonoscopy... Large intestine is mostly scarred or irritated with white and pink. I have 2 bad spots, which coincide with the pain I get. She said she saw ulcers at the beginning on the small intestine. So, going for a CT Enterography in two weeks.

My issues... I've had IBS for 10 yrs. She said I've had (it looks like) IBD for at least 5 yrs untreated. They need to heal the ulcers and intestines, what they can, see if it's truly crohns or ulcerative colitis. Put me on Mezavant 4.8mg/day right now. Only thing it's doing that I can see, it constipated. I'm having another flair up again. Passing bloody mucus, and I called my specialists office. Said its normal with the condition I'm in and to keep taking my medicine even if I don't eat.

And today, I was gagging and I'm on an empty stomach. Only saliva came out, but with blood. I don't cough blood up, but acid shoot up tastes like blood too. It's not mixed... It's blood streaks inside the saliva.

So, my small and large intestines are in pain.
My stomach feels like burning, but not heartburn. Sometimes it feels like a balloon is putting pressure on my chest, I take this as referred pain?!
I have GERD, and take pantoloc.
Anemic, always cold, dizzy, pale, bruise for no reason, and take 60mg.

Do I need to be worried about my stomach too?

Big hugs
Did they mention enteral nutrition ?
Basically formula only ( ensure boost modelum etc...)
And no food
Helps the guts heal
Similar to steroids

Did you get steroids as well to reduce the inflammation ?

Hey! Thanks for the tip and reply. No, they didn't. Just mentioned soft foods likes Apple sauce, pudding, soups, etc. Food sometimes smells like vomit to me, and I just eat saltine crackers and drink Gatorade. Those drinks are good/ok to have? The breakfast/meal replacement? Then I'll definitely pick them up.

This time the flair up is different. Apart from signs of blood both ways... I'm constipated. Still run to the bathroom, but it's not like before (where is was similar to a colonoscopy prep). The pain is all over, instead of just at the bottom right and side left. I'm exhausted though and in pain (fetal position and pressure helps) until the alien gets violently loud and moving.

No steroids, yet. I'm hoping I don't need them, since I've heard and read on here how the side effects can really suck. It's just hard to explain to ppl who don't go through it... That I feel like I have no control of bm, feels like gas or pressure pushing out, pains that come and go, my stomach feels like it's on fire (not heart burn tho) and I can feel the acid, and it really feels like I swollowed barbwire and someone is yanking it through my entire GI tract.

Any suggestions and knowledge is welcome. It's hard to find good information that's practical, or to talk to those who have had it for a while. So, thank you in advance.
