Hi everybody!
I was diagnosed with Crohn's and Colitis at 12, in 2003, after many different doctors failed to diagnose my condition (9 months of specialists and doctors). I had incredibly bad arthritis in my legs and my bowels were all over the place. I also had a massive fissure in my lower intestine and until I was thrown onto 60mg of prednisone each day, I was confined to bed. I also began to look like a large pumpkin and my face was about the size of soccer ball as result of this Hahaha.
Fast forward a few years to 2014!
Im currently taking methotrexate (with folic acid) and Pentasa. Everything seems to be under control and in remission and I haven't had a flare up for a few years - I think the last time might have been around 2005 (touch wood!) I'm active and cycle everyday and I drink lots of water in an effort to flush out any toxins that might be in my body. Im also just about to complete a Master of Teaching in Primary education!
Currently got some itchy hands and have been reading the posts but I understand it's just something that comes and goes, seeing a doctor on thursday about it though.
Hope to be involved in many discussions in the future!
