Today my Doctor gave me nitroglycerin Ointment to heal my fissures. So that once they are healed then I can go ahead with my scope. Just haven't seen any post on Nitro. before? Has anyone else been given that before and did it help.

Yes, I had the Nitro cream last spring to help heal my fissures. I think it helped some. They just took time. Very painful!! I started using the cream in April and had a colonoscopy the end of May. I was also on flagyl and Imuran.

I was on the flagyl because of a flare. But then again, the flare caused the fissure. I found keeping everything clean also helped. I would have a bath 2-3 times a day.
