Flu Jab and Octasa!

Hi,

I went for my yearly flu jab today at Boots and was told they could not give me one because I take Octasa and in the medical book the pharmacist got out said because vaccine may have an effect on incompromised immunity! I'm not in a flare up but this was their criteria. Anyone else have this problem!

I don't know what Octasa is but many of us here are immunocompromised and we are urged to get vaccinated.

Octasa is mesalamine. It's every time I get a virus that flares me up so having a flu jab is makes sense. Will go talk to my doctor!

Go to a different pharmacy for your flu jab. Octasa would not have any effect on immunity as far as criteria for the flu jab.
