Gut microbiota diversity and C-Reactive Protein are predictors of disease severity in COVID-19 patients

Did Fecal Transplant Stop COVID in Its Tracks?
— Two Polish patients co-infected with C difficile saw improvements

Fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) was safe in two hospitalized patients who were co-infected with cases of COVID-19 that quickly resolved, raising questions about the procedure's effect on the virus.

The aim of Fecal Microbiota Transplant is to increase the diversity of microbes in the gi tract, so this could be how FMT could help fight covid, if lower gi microbiome diversity is related to risk of getting covid.
